Time for Change

Hello blog world. I decided this week that it is time for a change. I'm almost done the process of posting my entire Master's thesis to the blog, and it feels like the end of something, and the beginning of something else.

I purchased the domain name www.areyouamuggle.com in 2003 to host the data gathering effort for my Master's thesis. I finished writing my thesis in April, 2004, almost 6 years ago. Since 2004, I have been using areyouamuggle.com to post vanity articles about myself and my research with the naive idea that some of the 5000+ individuals who contributed to my master's research might be interested in keeping up. That interest, I think it is safe to say, has dwindled to almost nothing. There may be a few readers still interested after all this time, but I have a feeling that most of the people who read are either 1) related to me, 2) married to me, or 3) a friend of mine in real life.

And I'm going to break some harsh news to all 8 of you: You aren't worth the $100+ I am spending every year to pay for hosting. I've never made a single dime off of the ~truly~ stellar material posted here, and the cost is outweighing the now-dated reasons I originally had for independent hosting.

Therefore, I am rolling everything over to blogspot. Blogspot will continue to host more than 6 years of triviata, with the added benefit that now my archives will actually be available. I will continue to pay for my areyouamuggle.com hosting for a while, so I can post an "update your links" page, but from now on, forthwith, my blog address will be ~drumroll please!~ http://areyouamuggle.blogspot.com
